Cancer maps: the future is here

Mapping cancer is not new. But the plethora of sophisticated methods now available for disease mapping means that cancer maps have never before had the potential to be as powerful or useful as now. This talk summarises a decade of work on mapping small-area patterns in cancer incidence and survival, first across Queensland, then Australia.

The models and methods used to generate small-area estimates and additional insights (including premature deaths) will be presented, along with information on data sources, visualisation, and how this work has helped cancer patients.
