SSA Vic & Tas Affiliate Organisations

There are many groups and Meetups in Melbourne that run events in the realm of data, statistics, machine learning and AI. Here we list those that we periodically run joint events with and whose events we cross-promote. To hear directly from those organisers about their events, sign up via the links provided.

• Machine Learning and AI Meetup: Monthly meetings to discuss applications and algorithms related to machine learning and AI. Generally takes the form of a seminar followed by dinner at a nearby pub.
• Melbourne Users of R Network (MelbURN): Seminars on projects using the statistical software package R. Events generally take the form of free pizza and networking followed by a talk.
• R-Ladies+ Melbourne: The Melbourne branch of a global organisation empowering underrepresented genders through a collaborative global network of R leaders, mentors, and developers. Events range from seminars, to social events, to coding days.
