Since we are discussing AI(?)/LLMS(!)

Ai should probably not be relied on for personal counselling or advice.  A friend of mine who is going through a divorce, was asking Chat how to deal with his ex. Luckily he ran it past a real friend (me) first. The AI advice was a mixture of motherhood suggestions, one good suggestion that I might not have thought of, and several bad. The best way to use AI in this context (if you must) is to share the output with a trusted friend.

    Hi all

I know this is the stats forum so we should be discussing AI applications to data and stats. But since the model is based on statistical principles I think we can discuss almost any application

Recently I have actually been trying to use it (mainly Chat GPT, am considering Claude) for some extremely complicated and serious personal and professional counselling matters. I hate to sound disrespectful to another associated profession of mine but it is like a poorly trained second rate counsellor using templte advice. LLM not AI

I feel they have lost their way in the interpersonal space. Trying to get it to be more human and not just reframe everything out of a book. The whole point of an AI/LLM best friend is that they are on your side or at least talk to you like a mate

    Sorry folks

But to be fair it happily took my criticism on board and continued :)

and it has helped me write a few useful scripts without me having to learn new APIs
