A Research Associate in Ecological Statistics (Level A) will assist research developing fast, modern statistical methods for analysing high dimensional count data at large scales. The position will particularly focus on applications studying ecological communities, as well as developing flexible tools for handling missing data.
The position will be a member of the Eco-Stats group, a team of researchers working under the supervision of Prof David Warton and Dr Jakub Stoklosa on diverse methodological problems arising in ecological statistics. This group is based in the UNSW School of Mathematics and Statistics and affiliated with the UNSW Evolution & Ecology Research Centre. The School of Mathematics and Statistics at UNSW is a leading research mathematics school in Australia and enjoys a strong international reputation. The Department of Statistics at UNSW is one of the largest and most successful in Australia. It is an active centre for methodological research and has a particular strength in computational statistics, and its applications in ecology.
