Lecturer in Statistical Science (Two permanent Posts), Contract Type B
The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Galway is pleased to seek applications for two permanent Lecturer posts in Statistical Science.
These roles result from the development of an exciting new Masters programme in Health Data Science launching in the academic year 2023/24.

We have a strong international reputation in Health Data Science research across the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences, School of Medicine and collaborations with numerous other Schools and Institutes, like CÚRAM and the Data Science Institute.
Academics in the Discipline have a strong track record of teaching and research in topics including statistical modelling, biostatistics, sports analytics and data science. The Health Data Science programme is a joint initiative with colleagues in the School (from statistics, bioinformatics and mathematics), as well the Schools of Computer Science and Medicine. The School also has members of CÚRAM, the Data Science Institute (DSI) and the associated Insight SFI Centre for Data Analytics, which have a strong international reputation in health data science.
We are seeking to recruit talented and committed permanent Lecturers in Statistical Science for teaching, research and service. Applicants are invited from any area of the Statistical Sciences, but those working in biostatistics, clinical statistics, or the wider statistical aspects of Health Data Science are particularly welcome.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and supervision at all levels, and should have a good track record in research and scholarship in Statistical Science. They will demonstrate an interest in participating in academic administration, and engagement with industry and society regionally, nationally and internationally.

Salary:
€68,104 to €88,578 p.a (depending on experience, applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011) (This appointment will be made on the Lecturer Above the Bar scale in line with current Government pay policy)
