    About

    Applications are invited for a one-year research Masters scholarship to work on statistical methods for the analysis of spatial point patterns, as part of the Marsden funded project ‘Principled inference for spatial point processes: a unified toolkit’. The successful applicant will work under the supervision of Dr Tilman Davies and Professor Martin Hazelton. The scholarship carries a stipend of NZD$22,000 per annum (tax free) and additionally covers fees.

    Skills and experience

    Candidates for this position should have a first-class or second-class (Div. I) Honours degree (or equivalent degree with at least a B+ average) in statistics. R programming experience and an interest in spatial applications are highly desirable.

    Location

    The successful applicant will conduct their studies at the University of Otago in Dunedin, on New Zealand’s South Island.
