I'd like to bring your attention to an upcoming (both in-person and zoom) event organized by the Victorian Branch. The Di Cook Award, named after Prof. Dianne Cook at Monash University, who is one of the world's leading authorities on data visualization, is a new open-source statistical software award for students or recent graduates in Victoria and Tasmania. The inaugural winners for 2021, announced by Prof. Dianne Cook earlier in March, will be presenting their projects on May 17, 5:30-6:30 pm (in less than two hours at writing time!) at the University of Melbourne. Those interested in developing statistical software and possibly competing for the award in future years are much encouraged to join. The in-person attendees have a chance to win a Great Australian Statisticians T-Shirt.
