An opportunity is available for a Laboratory Head focused on bioinformatics and computational biology research to join the Bioinformatics Division within Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute.
About the position
A faculty-level opportunity exists for an accomplished bioinformatician or computational biologist to join the Bioinformatics Division at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. The Division has a record of high-impact research in statistical bioinformatics, cancer genomics and systems biology including the creation of widely-used bioinformatics methodology. We are looking for a new laboratory head who will build on and complement existing strengths. This might include statistical bioinformatics and spatial omics but all areas of bioinformatics will be considered. A joint appointment with the Advanced Technology & Biology Division would be considered favourably depending on the interests of the candidate.
