    Dear ANZstat,

We have two exciting positions open to join CSIRO and help us explore developments in the technical implementation of co-designed and digitally enabled ecological monitoring and management approaches. These are three-year postdoctoral roles based in Brisbane or Townsville. We are looking for early career scientists who want to join a growing and dynamic interdisciplinary team of ecologists, social scientists, statisticians and data scientists who are working on new ways to interpret, translate and communicate ecological monitoring and management data.

Postdoc 1: CSIRO Postdoctoral Fellowship in Co-Designed AI and Digital Data Translation Tool for Environment

    APPLY HERE

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to explore how creative digital and AI data fusion approaches can enable non-technical users to interpret and understand complex data narratives. The successful candidate will examine how new digital co-design approaches can fuse multiple sources of evidence to support ecological management in ways which strengthen both social and technical confidence in a program’s outcomes.

Postdoc 2: CSIRO Postdoctoral Fellowship in Ecological Data Integration

    APPLY HERE

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong quantitative background to work on developing the next-generation of statistical data integration approaches. The successful candidate will explore novel modelling approaches which enable the integration of multiple, disparate data streams into robust prediction of ecological state and trend.

Could you please forward this through your networks - this would be a fantastic opportunity for the right people. These roles are well funded and supported by a number of high profile projects currently underway within CSIRO including the National Koala Monitoring ProgramSpaceCows and Healthy Country AI programs.

These roles are open to Australian/New Zealand and international applicants who either hold or are able to obtain a valid working visa (visa sponsorship for the duration of the specified term may be offered to the successful candidate if required).

Please reach out if you have any questions about these roles.

Applications close on the 16th of November.

    Kind regards,

    Andrew.
