Note that although this link indicates Wellington as location, it is also advertised for Christchurch and Auckland, and the text states: “Flexible working options/ location… Please note, this is a fulltime, permanent position that will be based in NZ. Please specify in your covering letter which location you would prefer to be based.”

This is the position I held from 2000 to 2017 before I (semi-)retired. It is great job for an applied statistician, with lots of fascinating projects involving both biodiversity and social questions.
