    We are looking for an experienced Biostatistician to play a vital role in our Research and Development at The George Institute.

    • Full-time or Part time opportunity (We offer flexible working conditions)
    • Newtown office location (moving to Barangaroo in November 2023)
    • 24 month contract (with potential to extend)
    • Hybrid working environment (1 day per week in the office)

    The Opportunity

    As a Biostatistician, you will collaborate with researchers, clinicians and data scientists to design, analyse and interpret research studies and clinical trials. We need your statistical expertise to support the research completed including clinical trials, meta-analyses and observational studies.

     Key Responsibilities and Duties

    • Perform statistical analyses for randomised clinical trials and observational studies.
    • Develop statistical analysis plans, including sample size calculations and analysis methods.
    • Work closely with clinical and public health researchers to support their trials and projects.
    • Prepare randomisation schedules for clinical and cluster randomised trials.
    • Provided analyses to support data safety and monitoring committees.
    • Proficiency in statistical software such as R, SAS and/ or Stata.
    • Experience working with clinical trial and/or observational health datasets as well as conducting complex statistical analysis.

     

    Profile:  

    • Post Grad Qualification in Statistics (PhD, MPhil, MSc)
    • A strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills
    • High level problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
    • Experience in a health industry is considered highly desirable
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines for clinical trials is considered advantageous
