The University of Canberra's aim is to develop doctoral students who will prosper in careers in Australia’s data-skilled workforce. This PhD scholarship program provides opportunities for outstanding postgraduate students with demonstrated academic and research excellence to further their careers in addressing ‘real world’ issues that have impact on practice and policy. The area of the PhD Program is “Potentially preventable hospitalization pathways (PPHs) and measures” and will test the usefulness of PPHs as an indicator of the effectiveness of primary care and investigate the potential for developing new metrics that could be used for ongoing monitoring of the interface between primary and acute care. The successful candidate will be enrolled into our flagship PhD Plus program and be integrated into high performing academic teams in a world class research environment.
PhD candidates will be awarded a scholarship stipend of $35,000 per annum (and indexed), comprising a tax-free living allowance for 3.5 years. In addition, there will be an option for casual employment at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.The successful candidates will be supervised jointly by staff at AIHW and UC.
