If you are a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with interests in statistical computing, Bayesian statistical methodology and machine learning, apply to join us at the School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Wollongong. You will be working with Professor Sumeetpal Singh within the specific initiative “Advanced Computationally Intensive Methods for Bayesian Analysis of High-dimensional Models.”
[Position Qualifications] Completion (or near completion) of a relevant Doctoral qualification in Statistics/Applied Probability/Machine Learning on Computational Statistics, Bayesian methodology, Uncertainty quantification. Other closely related research topics may be considered.
Strong track record (relative to research opportunity) in publishing manuscripts in internationally reviewed journals.
Demonstrated skills relevant to research in Computational Statistics including qualitative and quantitative research, publications, software development.
You will be working in the National Institute for Applied Statistics Research Australia (NIASRA), which is based at the school. Wollongong is a highly liveable city on the beautiful Illawarra coast, about 50 miles (80km) south of Sydney, Australia.
Salary range (AUD): $90,795 - $106,374 plus 17% superannuation
