The Centre for Health Research Illawarra Shoalhaven Population within the Australian Health Services Research Institute at UOW has a 12-month vacancy for a Research Fellow Statistics at Level B.

The applicant should have, or be close to completing, a doctoral qualification with a strong mathematical/statistical component, or have equivalent industry or research experience. They will be required to provide advice on research design and analysis plans, and to undertake analysis of large linked and longitudinal datasets. The applicant will also need to have strong oral and written communication skills as they will collaborate with clinicians, managers and academics from non-statistical backgrounds, and assist in preparing presentations and manuscripts for publication.

Specific skills required include:

-               Statistical analysis, preferably with experience modelling administrative health data

-               Statistical programming (SAS or R)

-               Experience in working in a government or academic research role

-               Experience contributing to the preparation of reports and/or peer-reviewed research outputs

The position is based at the Innovation Campus at the University of Wollongong. This is a full-time contract at Academic Level B ($100,306 - $115,840), plus 9.5% superannuation. The position is a 12-month role to back-fill a seconded staff member. The position description is attached.
