SSA Queensland Branch is pleased to announce financial support for up to two “young statistician” members to attend the YSC 2019 in Canberra. We will reimburse the YSC 2019 conference registration fees (early bird or non-early bird) category. 

To be eligible, you would need to be a current member of the branch at the time of registration and have submitted an abstract for a poster or for an oral presentation.

Please submit your conference abstract, CV and a brief cover letter (on the benefits you stand to gain from the YSC 2019) all in a single document to m.mortlock@uq.edu.au by 30 August 2019.

Successful applicants will be notified by 13 Sept 2019 and will be required to contribute a brief article of few paragraphs summing their experience at the YSC for the SSA newsletter.

Note that to qualify as a “Young Statistician” you either have to be studying statistics or have graduated in the last 5 years and work in a statistics related area. There are no age restrictions. See https://www.statsoc.org.au/Young-statisticians-Network
