The Statistical Consulting Network of the SSA is pleased to advise that registrations are now open for the following event

Statistical Consulting Network 2020 Meeting

held on 7 - 9 December 2020 from 11am-2pm AEDT(each day).

The Statistical Consulting Network 2020 Meeting is a virtual event where statistical consultants can connect, present their ideas, discuss best practice, and more!  The event will feature:

·         A keynote talk by Doug Zahn (Florida State)

·         Contributed talks

·         Lunchtime discussions on topical issues in consulting

·         A virtual display hall to view contributed speed talks and posters 

The conference will be hosted in a Slack workspace, with talks held in Zoom meetings.  Slack is an intuitive channel-based messaging platform that makes it easy for conference attendees to connect with each other, publicly and privately, and to access and engage in a range of conference activities in an organised way.  The Statistical Consulting Network is part of the Statistical Society of Australia, a forum supporting consultants in the Australia/New Zealand region.

The call for contributed presentations is open – submit your abstract before midday (AEST), 30 September! 

Presentations are welcome on any topic of interest to the statistical consulting community, including but not limited to:

·         Case studies

·         Challenges of private consulting

·         Dealing with the challenges of remote consulting

·         Human side of consulting

·         Research in statistical consulting

·         Strategies for consulting

·         Short course teaching

A focus of the conference is interaction, and each day there will be an hour dedicated to lunchtime discussions around topical issues in consulting.  If you have something you would like to add to the agenda, let us know at StatConsultingNetwork.SSA@gmail.com.

Registration provides access to the Slack workspace where all talks will be recorded and stored. Removal of recordings can be requested by a speaker.

All registrants will be asked to read and abide by the event's code of conduct.

Our goal is to provide truly exceptional offerings and service, and we won't be happy until you are. If any programs, products or services of SSA do not fulfill our promise, we will make the situation right.

Event Cancellation or Postponement
SSA reserves exclusive right to modify, postpone/reschedule or cancel programs for any reason, including but not limited to emergency, inclement weather or other 'acts of God'. If there is an event cancellation, every attempt will be made to reschedule, and registration fees will be applied to the rescheduled event date. Any travel, lodging, or incidental expenses incurred related to a cancelled event cannot be refunded under any circumstances. If a cancelled event cannot be rescheduled, SSA will issue a refund.

Consent to Use of Photographic Images
Registration and attendance at, or participation in, SSA meetings and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to the use and distribution of the registrant or attendees' image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions and audiotapes of such events and activities by SSA and other third parties.

Cancellation Policy

As you will still be able to watch the meeting recordings after the event, we will not be offering any refunds.
